This Privacy Policy explains how Neural AI Works, Inc. ("we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use AI Book (the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

  • Account: your email address (to send your sign-in link) and the display name you choose
  • Profile (optional): birth year, country, and whether and when you agreed to marketing emails
  • What you leave while learning: highlights and notes, quiz answers, and feedback you leave on the text
  • AI tutor: the questions you type and the answers generated
  • Early Access and surveys (if you join): your answers to short questions, survey responses (including what you write in your own words), and consent records

Information Collected Automatically

  • Activity: where you read and your progress, active reading time, code runs and interactive graph use, and use of features such as search

  • Setup: a broad device category, OS and browser type, screen size, language and time zone, and how you found us

    • Your IP address is processed by our network and hosting providers to deliver the Service and protect it from abuse, and we record it as a security log when you change account details such as your display name. We do not collect your precise location, raw mouse or keystroke logs, or device fingerprints.

    Information From Third Parties

    We do not currently receive information about you from third parties. When payments open, Stripe will process your card details and send us only limited information such as payment status; we will not store your full card number.

    2. How We Use Information

    • To provide and run the Service, and to send your sign-in links and service emails
    • To generate AI tutor answers
    • To understand how the book is read and improve its content and features. We analyse this data under a random ID kept apart from your email
    • For Early Access research, only if you agree to take part
    • For news and marketing emails, only if you agree to receive them
    • For security, abuse prevention, and legal compliance

    3. AI Tutor

    When you ask the AI tutor a question, your question and parts of the chapter you are reading are sent to OpenAI to generate the answer. Please do not include personal or sensitive information in your questions. Questions and answers are kept as a history you can come back to.

    4. How We Share Information

    We share information only as needed with the providers below, who process it on our behalf to run the Service.

    • Amazon Web Services: servers, database, and file storage
    • Cloudflare: network security and delivery
    • OpenAI: AI tutor answers
    • Resend: sign-in and service emails
    • Stripe: payment processing (once payments open)

    Beyond that, we disclose information only when the law requires it, to protect the rights and safety of our users or ourselves, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or other business transfer. We do not sell your personal information or share it for targeted advertising.

    5. Data Retention

    We keep your data until you delete your account, and delete or de-identify it within one year after that. Statistics and quotes that cannot identify you may still be used after that. Records the law requires us to keep longer are kept for that period.

    6. Your Rights and Choices

    You can ask to access, correct, or delete your information, or to receive a copy of it. Send your request to the contact below; we will verify your identity and respond within 45 days. We will not treat you differently for exercising these rights.

    You can withdraw your consent to marketing emails at any time under My Page > My details.

    7. Your California Privacy Rights

    Residents of California and some other states have rights under state law to know what personal information we collect, to ask us to delete or correct it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising. You can make a request in the same way as described in Section 6.

    Do Not Track: Some browsers send a Do Not Track signal. Because we do not track you across other websites or allow third parties to do so, the Service works the same way whether or not your browser sends this signal.

    8. Children's Privacy

    The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you learn that a child under 13 has given us information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

    9. Where We Store Your Data

    Your data is stored on servers in the United States.

    10. Cookies and Browser Storage

    We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and remember your interface language. Display settings, such as how your library is laid out, are kept in your browser's local storage. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics tools.

    11. Security

    We protect your information with encryption in transit (TLS), restricted access, and by keeping analysis data apart from account details. No transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, however.

    12. Changes to This Policy

    When we change this policy, we update the date at the top of this page. We will give notice of significant changes in advance by email or within the Service.
